Plasma

Overview

Alma’s plasma technology—specifically the Alma Opus—represents a significant leap in skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. Unlike traditional lasers, it utilizes Fractional Plasma® energy, created by the interaction between radiofrequency (RF) and atmospheric pressure. This process generates micro-sparks that produce controlled thermal damage (micro-perforations) while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This dual-action approach triggers the body’s natural wound-healing response, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin fibers. The result is a highly customizable treatment that effectively addresses fine lines, deep wrinkles, acne scarring, and skin laxity with significantly less downtime than ablative CO2 lasers.

Treatment Benefits

Skin Resurfacing with Minimal Downtime

Alma Plasma plays the role of mediator between the classic CO2 lasers and gentler modalities by providing with high-intensity resurfacing and short recovery period at the same time. The micro-plasma sparks inflict controlled wounds that set off a swift healing process which results in clinic-like for the others—specially fi large pores, rough texture, and superficial imperfections. Typical reactions of patients last only for 24-48 hours; hence they can resume their normal activities much sooner than the cases of traditional ablative procedures thanks to the mildness of the redness.

Enhanced Collagen and Elastin Stimulation

Through the use of high-frequency unipolar RF energy, this technique effectively penetrates the dermal layers and activates the creation of new collagen and elastin. The biological "reset" not only strengthens the skin's durable foundation but also results in long-term benefits in the areas of firmness, elasticity, and skin health. The patients experience a slow and natural lifting effect, which is reminiscent of maintaining a youthful and vibrant complexion, due to the continuous body remodeling of these essential proteins in the months after treatment.

Safe for All Skin Types and Tones

Alma Plasma, in contrast to many old-style lasers, which entail a danger of hyperpigmentation or burns for persons with darker skins, is effective on all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI). The technology very accurately manages the energy contact's duration and intensity, thus reducing the inflammation that pigments are mostly caused by, to a minimum. Hence, the customers' diversity accessing the treatment is increased and they do not have to go through light resurfacing with the thermal unit's risks to treat such problems as acne scars and sun damage.

Precise Treatment for Delicate Areas

One of the many advantages of using the Alma Plasma handpiece is its flexibility in applying very delicate treatments in the areas that are usually considered the most difficult to treat e.g., around the eyes (peri-orbital) and mouth (peri-oral). Besides, it is very popular in "non-surgical blepharoplasty" making eyelids look fresher and even eliminating the appearance of fine wrinkles caused by smoking with microscopic precision. This way not only does the doctor get to do the work but also the patient gets the benefit of a less invasive procedure with no long healing time.
